In December of 2023 I created this fabric and floral ceiling installation to adorn the stage at Audra Kubat’s Detroit House of Music. Audra wanted something that felt like an ampitheatre, so I hung fabric panels swooping across the ceiling with rows of fringe in front. For the longevity of the installation I used faux and dried florals, which were hung interwoven with the fabric. With a sense of movement, the floral was placed behind, through, and in front of the panels, giving every audience member a unique view of the installation from different locations in the room.
